24 Hour Plumbing

Your water heater doesn’t care that it’s 2 AM on a Tuesday. Your bathroom pipe doesn’t check if it’s Eid before it bursts. And your kitchen drain doesn’t wait for business hours to clog completely. In Dubai, plumbing emergencies happen when they happen — and when they do, you need someone who actually answers the phone and shows up.

Emergency plumber responding to nighttime water leak call in Dubai apartment

We’ve been running 24-hour plumbing service across Dubai for years. We’ve seen it all: the villa in Arabian Ranches where the garden irrigation line blew at midnight and flooded the driveway. The apartment in Marina where the toilet supply line cracked at 6 AM and water was running into the hallway. The restaurant in Deira where the grease trap backed up on a Friday lunch rush. Each one needed someone there fast, with the right tools, who knew what they were doing.

What Actually Counts as a Plumbing Emergency

Not every drip needs a midnight callout. A slow-draining sink or a slightly loose tap can wait until morning. But here are the situations where you should call immediately:

Burst pipe or major leak. If water is actively pouring out and you can’t stop it, that’s an emergency. Turn off the main water valve — usually near the front boundary wall for villas, or in the utility closet for apartments. If you can’t find it, we’ll talk you through it on the phone while we’re on our way. A burst pipe in Dubai can dump hundreds of liters per hour. In an hour, you’ve got water in the walls, under the floors, and into electrical fittings.

Sewage backup. When sewage starts coming up through drains or toilets, that’s a health hazard. Don’t try to flush it away — it’ll make it worse. We bring jetting equipment to clear main lines and cameras to find blockages. Most sewage backups in Dubai are caused by wet wipes, grease buildup, or tree roots in older villa areas. We’ve cleared lines where the blockage was 20 meters down and took a full hour of high-pressure jetting to break through.

No water to the property. If all taps are dry and your DEWA bill is paid, there’s a problem with the supply line or main valve. Could be a broken street connection, a failed pressure reducing valve, or a shutoff that got turned accidentally. We diagnose it quickly and coordinate with DEWA if the problem is outside your property line.

Water heater leaking or burst. A leaking water heater can flood a utility room in minutes. Electric water heaters have a safety valve that releases when pressure gets too high — if that valve is constantly dripping, the tank is overheating or the thermostat is failing. Gas water heaters have different risks — a leaking gas line is dangerous and needs immediate attention. We carry replacement valves, thermostats, and can install a new unit same-day if needed.

Gas leak. If you smell gas — that rotten egg odor added to natural gas — turn off the gas at the mains, open windows, don’t use electrical switches, and call immediately. Gas leaks are rare but serious. We have gas detectors and repair equipment, and we coordinate with Dubai Civil Defence if the leak is major.

What Happens When You Call at Midnight

A real person answers. We ask what’s happening, where you are, and how bad it is. “Water pouring through the ceiling” gets a different response than “the tap is dripping a bit.” We give immediate advice: where’s your main valve, can you turn it off, is water near any electrical outlets. Sometimes the fix is simple enough that we talk you through it and save you a callout fee. Other times we need to come out.

We tell you honestly how long it’ll take. If you’re in Jumeirah and our nearest van is in Al Quoz, it’s 60-90 minutes. If you’re in Downtown and we’ve got a team nearby, it’s 30. We don’t promise 15 minutes if we can’t make it. Traffic in Dubai at 2 AM is light but not empty — we give realistic ETAs and update you if anything changes.

The van carries pipe cutters, wrenches, pipe fittings, drain snakes, jetting hoses, water pumps, leak detection gear, and common spare parts. Most emergency repairs are done in one visit. For major jobs — like replacing a full section of underground pipe — we stop the leak, secure the property, and schedule the full repair for daylight hours when we can excavate properly.

Common Nighttime Calls We Get

Blocked toilet at 11 PM. The most common call. Usually it’s too much paper, a foreign object, or a partial blockage that finally gave way. We bring a closet auger — a specialized snake for toilets — and clear most blockages in 10-15 minutes. If it’s deeper in the line, we use a camera to find it. We’ve pulled out everything from children’s toys to phone cases to full bars of soap.

Water heater burst at 6 AM. The tank corrodes from the inside over 8-10 years. You don’t see it happening until the seam splits or a fitting cracks. The water floods the utility room, runs under doors, and soaks into drywall. We shut off the supply, drain the tank, and assess whether it’s repairable or needs replacement. Most tanks over 10 years old need replacing — the corrosion is throughout, not just at the leak point. A new 80-liter electric water heater installed is 800-1200 dirhams. Cleaning up the water damage if you wait? 3,000-5,000.

Kitchen drain backup during dinner prep. Grease, food particles, and soap scum build up in kitchen drains over time. In Dubai’s heat, the grease hardens in the pipes. When enough builds up, the drain slows, then stops completely. We use a drain snake for simple clogs and high-pressure water jetting for hardened grease. Prevention is simple: don’t pour oil down the drain, use a strainer, and run hot water after washing up. But most people learn this after the first emergency call.

Underground leak in villa gardens. The owner notices the water bill jumped 500 dirhams, or a patch of grass is suddenly greener than the rest. The leak is underground, sometimes a meter down, in the supply line between the meter and the house. We use acoustic leak detectors and ground microphones to pinpoint it. Then we excavate — carefully, because Dubai villas have irrigation lines, electrical conduits, and telecom cables everywhere — repair the pipe, and backfill. It’s a half-day job, not a midnight fix, but we can stop the leak and schedule the excavation for morning.

What You Actually Pay for Night Calls

Emergency rates are higher than daytime rates. That’s reality — the plumber is working unsociable hours. But we tell you the price before we dispatch. No surprises when we arrive.

Our emergency callout fee covers the first hour of labour. Most common emergencies — blocked drain, leaking tap, toilet repair, valve replacement — are done within that hour. If the job needs more time, we tell you before starting. Parts are at standard rates — a ball valve that costs 45 dirhams at noon still costs 45 dirhams at midnight.

We also don’t charge emergency rates for simple fixes you could have done yourself. If we arrive and the problem is a turned-off isolation valve or a loose tap washer, we charge a reduced diagnostic fee and show you what to check next time. Charging full emergency rates for a 2-minute fix is dishonest. We don’t do that.

The Difference Between Real 24-Hour Service and Marketing

Plenty of companies say “24-hour service” on their website. What they often mean is “leave a message and we’ll call you back in the morning.” Or “we have one guy on call who might answer if he’s not asleep.” Or “emergency rates start at triple the normal price and we might show up in three hours.”

Real 24-hour service means a human answers the phone at 2 AM. It means a van is dispatched immediately, not “first thing tomorrow.” It means the plumber has parts in stock and doesn’t need to come back. It means the price is fair even at midnight. Anything less is just advertising.

We’ve built our night service by having dedicated emergency plumbers who actually prefer night shifts — they get paid properly, they have the right equipment, and they know they won’t get sent out for nonsense. That’s how you keep good people working nights.

Preventing the Next Emergency

Most midnight plumbing calls could have been prevented. The water heater that burst? It was rusting for two years — an annual inspection would have caught it. The drain that backed up? It was draining slowly for months — a simple clean would have prevented it. The pipe that burst? It was corroding at a joint — a pressure test would have shown the weakness.

We don’t push maintenance contracts hard, but we do tell the truth: the 300 dirhams you spend on an annual plumbing check saves you from a 2,000 dirham emergency call at midnight. It’s not complicated math.

After every emergency repair, we check the rest of the system. If the water heater is corroding, we show you. If the water pressure is too high for your pipes, we mention it. If the drain line has multiple weak points, we flag them. This isn’t about finding more work — it’s about preventing your next 2 AM call.

Quick Questions About 24-Hour Plumbing

How fast can you get here?
30-90 minutes depending on your location and traffic. We give a realistic ETA when you call and update you if anything changes.

Do you charge more for night and weekend emergencies?
Yes, emergency rates apply outside normal hours. But we tell you the exact cost before dispatching. Parts are at standard rates — no emergency markup.

What should I do while waiting?
Turn off the main water valve if you can find it. For villas, it’s usually near the front gate; for apartments, check the utility closet. Put towels down to contain water. Don’t use electrical outlets near standing water. We’ll guide you through specifics when you call.

Can you fix it in one visit?
Most common emergencies — blocked drains, leaking taps, valve replacements, toilet repairs — yes. For major jobs like underground pipe replacement, we stop the leak and schedule the full repair for daylight.

What areas do you cover?
All of Dubai — from Jebel Ali to Mirdif, Downtown to Dubai South. Our vans are positioned across the city for fast response.
